Got the late night munchies?
Okay, well I can tell you that the light was NOT created to increase your food intake. I get it, we all get the late night munchies when we are bored or think we are hungry. In all honesty, it could be because you are dehydrated, so try drinking some water before reaching for that 3rd mini bag of chips. What I can do for you is let you know a few unhealthy late night snacks that you might think are "okay".
1.CEREAL
This is a big one because almost everyone has this before they go to sleep. The problem with that one bowl of "harmless" cereal is that it is loaded with sugar. Later in the day, your metabolism becomes more sloth like and stores the sugar as fat. Instead go for some PLAIN popcorn.
2.Dark Chocolate
For many girls, chocolate is a weakness. Well, this weakness can cause tossing and turning while trying to sleep. Dark chocolate is a natural source of caffeine and can sabotage your fitness gains. Try out some carob chips since they are similar to chocolate but are caffeine free!
3.Ice Cream
As we all know, ice cream is a great dessert but this dessert has the same results as cereal. Full of sugar and end up being stored as fat. Also, it will kick your digestive system into overdrive and disturb a night's rest. Instead of that Chunky Monkey tub of ice cream, go for some low fat cottage cheese with some chia seeds.
We all get those late night munchies so don't be too hard on yourself. It's all about making the right choices.
